  • FAST TRACK SUCCESS FOR LONDON’S ELECTRIC TAXIS

    December 2, 2019

Sherbet London – the first and biggest fleet of electric black cabs in the city – has been ranked as one of the fastest growing businesses in the country.

It has been confirmed this week as number 41 within the 23rd annual Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.

CEO, Asher Moses, said he is delighted with the news that reflects the hard work and commitment shown by all his team to bring sustainable electric power technology to the taxi industry. ‘We have been focusing on delivering technological and service excellence and supported by exceptionally brave and forward-thinking taxi drivers who have invested in working with Sherbet as a premium London brand,’ he said. Reflecting on this news and also the fact Uber has lost its licence to operate in London, Asher said there has been a renaissance for the iconic black cab.

We have been investing in green and that has paid off,’ he said. ‘There is a genuine need for organisations to look at how they are transporting their staff and clients – and electric taxis tick the corporate responsibility boxes. We also offer high levels of service, proving against the odds that the taxi driver is a small to medium enterprise looking to provide complete customer satisfaction.’

Sherbet believes the heritage of the London taxi industry has always been built upon putting the passenger at the heart of everything and, as a result, had developed its position as a much-loved part of the capital’s life. Although the rise of apps such as Uber brought its own pressures, there were also the issues coming from the need for environmental action and a race for state-of-the-art technology and payment systems.

‘The fact we have faced all these challenges between us has brought about massive change. By addressing all these issues Sherbet London and all it staff, drivers, customers and passengers have helped generate cleaner transport, safe taxis and a great future for the black cab. We are delighted to have been voted so high up in this very prestigious list,’ added Asher. He added there is still plenty of room for the price-based app services, regardless of whether they are operated by Uber or other competing brands. ‘Our business is focused on providing a clean, green, high end service which offers unparalleled quality. We are not competing for the price-led business as our goal is to develop a brand that everyone understands and trusts for its high values. This award reflects that commitment.’
